Hi friends! What have you been up to? I've spent the past 2 days deep cleaning my laundry room. Whew, that's hard work but I am very thankful to even have a laundry room. At our last house, the washer and dryer were in a small closet behind bi-fold doors in the kitchen... it was crazy, ha! So today I played around a little. I bought a few brooms this past year at garage sales and they've been tucked away. My very favorite is of course the oldest one with the green handle. This other one I added a strip of burlap and cheesecloth.
Then I added my favorite homespuns to 2 more of the brooms, along with a strip of green burlap. I like the rusted handle on the other broom but I'm gonna have to cut off those little blue pieces... I think I'll just pull it off completely because it's such a bright blue (hope my broom doesn't fall apart, lol).
The brooms are displayed on an old corn cob dryer that I found at an antique mall last year marked down to $6.00!!
I found all kinds of neat ways to display brooms on Pinterest. I came across this corn cob dryer as I was digging out all my brooms and thought it would work well but I didn't want to hang it on the wall so I put some twine through the top loop and tied it to the back strip of my wooden ironing board.
We finally got SNOW! Ever since my oldest kid was born, we've had snow every year. Last year was the first in 17 years that we didn't get any and we were all sad. I love our neighbors home in all seasons but it's so pretty when the snow settles on the big boulders that their log home sits on.
Our neat little creek that runs between our home and the neighbors. The kids love to play in it year round.
Lastly, it's home sweet home...
I'm grateful for... even having a home to clean although it is a huge pain. Also very thankful that I have this time to clean the inside of our home before warm weather hits and we can go outside.
Thanks for stopping by friends. It's back to cleaning for me. I tried a tip on Pinterest for cleaning the inside of the washing machine and it worked okay but looks like I'm gonna need to use some elbow grease on the agitator. Once that is done I will be able to move on to the next room, yippee! Have a warm and cozy week~
I'm starting to love these little brooms! I have seen quite a few around lately...hmmm, maybe a collection of my own would be nice:) Thanks for sharing ~ Lori
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a clean laundry space- when I clean it out I feel refreshed, and doing laundry is a little more cheerful!
ReplyDeleteHey girl, you can come clean my laundry room! I got the goodies off the shelf the other day and cleaned it all, but I haven't gotten the floor scrubbed.....Geese, what am I one here, for?.....See ya one of these days!

Great broom display! They look great!
ReplyDeleteI just moved my display of brooms to a peg rack in my kitchen. They were in a tool caddy for years but I decided to use the caddy for my spring display on my coffee table. :)
Doesn't it feel good to have a clean work space? Good job.
Hi Angie! Love your broom collection--and especially on the corn dryer--I have been looking high and low for my corn dryer for weeks...that maybe means I have to do some deep cleaning in the basement! Yum...I've always had a fondness for Dutch Gambrel houses! (and I WILL let you know about the cards) ;) --Jan
ReplyDeleteAngie, Love the idea of using the corn dryer as a display rack for the brooms - I have both a corn dryer and a collection of brooms. Can you say "copycat!" Not sure where I will put mine, but I'll share a photo when I decide. ~Ann
ReplyDeleteHI Angie - AWESOME collection - and what a clever way to display them all! I have a few myself, but they don't look as cute as yours. Might I suggest that you use a market on the bright blue threads? I'm afraid your little whisk broom might not survive if you remove that part.....
ReplyDeleteHiya Angie, creative va-va-va-voom broom display, really nice, good for you! Tootles for now, you go on with your cleaning, I'm off to enjoy an ice cream Dove Bar LOL:)
ReplyDeleteHi Angie,
ReplyDeleteLove the display idea of using the corn cob holder! I have 3 brooms and as I see them I pick them up, but I have to be crazy for them or I won't buy them. Weird, I know.
Love your home, so precious.
xoxo
Sweet broom collection.
ReplyDeleteLove how you've put them on a corn dryer.
Oh sweet pretty snow.
Woolie hugs

A broom collection- that's clever! I love the corn cob wire for display, too. The snow is beautiful, but I must admit, I do not miss the mess it brings ~

Hi Angie, Love your broom collection and the clever way you have chosen to display them. Instead of taking the thread out from the broom, maybe you could tone down the color by staining the thread with a grungy mix. Just a thought here. Love the snow pictures, but as I get older, I find I am only loving it when I do not have to go out in it..lol Sighing..... I am so ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your week.
Hugs Mary
That's a clever creative idea. I like it! Grunge up those threads to make them look olden.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about house cleaning. It wears me out! We need maids! LOL.

I always love to visit with you. I just keep thinking about all of the brooms that we went through over the years, cleaning up around the wood stove. And to think we threw them all away. lol. Have a great day. Blessings~Sara
ReplyDeleteGreat display idea!! Dont ya loooove pinterest?? I'd love to see your whole laundry room. We just got a new washer and dryer and I'm converting my garage spot into a "prim laundry corner". Yours looks like its really cute, dont know why but I have a "thing" for laundry rooms!! ~Kriss~

Thanks for sharing!

Love your broom collection Angie! The display looks great. Everyone should have thier own little creek to play in. We have one behind our house too, and the grandkids love it. The same one I played in as a kid! Have a sweet day! Hugs,

Neat brooms Angie. My favorite is the one with the greet handle. I don't own any. It's a shame hu? I never come across them. Glad you finally got some pretty snow. We got unusually dumped on this year. The girls have been having a blast with it. You have a lovely home. To own any home nowdays is a blessing. So many are having to sell or are going under. We would love to move to the country and have a little more space, but no one's buying right now and I guess I should be grateful to even have a house:) -Steph-
ReplyDeleteHi Angie,
ReplyDeleteHope you are all warm and toasty with all that snow. Beautiful pictures.
I love your broom collection and love even more how you have them displayed...very unique.
Karen
I love this idea and I am stealing it! So clever! Thanks for sharing. I don't explore enough on Pinterest. I need to go over there and see what everybody is doing! Thanks for the inspiration.

Angie, I love your broom display. How nice to have a laundry room to decorate. I have the laundry closet in the kitchen - not much room for decorating.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sue
Hi Angie, I love all of your little brooms, you know that is one thing that I don't even have one of. The snow is so pretty. Love your beautiful home, doesn't it feel good to have something all clean and fresh. Hugs, Lecia
